Housing Event

Unfortunately due to the restrictions in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 the event that was planned for May 2020 has been postponed. However, here is an idea of what you can expect when a new date is arranged:

  • Housing Event 2020

How we plan and deliver services is very important to Winchester City Council.  We want to place tenants at the centre of all that we do.  The housing conference is an important way for us to communicate with tenants and to hear their views.

We are changing the format of the event to a friendlier and open approach, to give you time to talk to staff about what matters to you.  We asked for opinions on the name as we felt the name “Housing Conference” put people off attending.  We have changed it to Housing Event.

FREE fun event between 10am-1pm in The Guildhall Winchester (date TBC). It will be a chance to get together with other tenants and leaseholders, chat to housing staff and meet some of the contractors who carry out our maintenance and cleaning services including Osbourne, P H Jones and YBC cleaning.  There will also be information stalls manned by Hampshire Fire and Rescue, Citizen Advice Centre, Hampshire Police and the Job Centre.

We will provide free parking in a city centre car park, free refreshments and even a free goody bag for everyone who attends.  Plus there’ll be a chance to win a Kindle Fire tablet.

There will be children’s activities to keep the little ones entertained while you meet housing staff to learn about council services including fire safety, using our online portal, estate improvements, new homes, disabled adaptations and how we’re working to tackle antisocial behaviour and climate change. Come along, get involved and have your say.

  • Housing Conference 2018

Around 120 Council tenants gathered at Winchester Guildhall for the Housing Tenant Conference held on Saturday 24 February 2018.

The event saw residents get involved in a wide variety of helpful workshops, listen to informative talks and offered them an opportunity to provide feedback on their housing service.

During the half-day conference, tenants heard about plans for new housing in the Winchester District, improved services and the latest Government announcements on housing which gave them an opportunity to shape future housing services in the District.

If you missed out you can download the presentations from this page.
