I am at risk of severe illness

The Government has identified some people who are ‘extremely clinically vulnerable’ to getting seriously ill from Coronavirus because of an underlying health condition such as COPD, certain cancers and auto-immune conditions, and pregnant women with underlying health conditions.

Those in this group will have been contacted in early November by the Department of Health and Social Care to advise that they should stay at home as much as possible, except to go outdoors for exercise or to attend health appointments. They have also been advised that if they do not have friends, family or neighbours who can provide support, they can register for help to access food, medicine and social contact via the new National Shielding Service System (NSSS) at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-shielding-support.
