Take a look at the buildings on Winchester’s High Street in the evening, once all the bustle and crowds have gone. The walk will consider the architecture, the High Street businesses of the past and changes that were planned but didn’t happen.

Description
Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre. Learn about society, religion and working life. From the site of the vanished East Gate to the remaining Westgate, take in the different styles and hear about the eclectic mix of people and architecture through time. This tour finishes at the “top” of the High Street near the Westgate pub.
Tickets are available in advance through the website or in person on the day at the Visitor Information Centre if still available. Tickets may be bought immediately prior to the start with cash only from the guide, if still available.
