Description
The rediscovery of female composers, too often sidelined in history, has become something of a musical revolution. In this afternoon recital, Lucinda Cox and Tom Jesty offer a musical journey through the repertoire of songs by women composers from the last 200 years.
Featuring love songs, religious lyrics and settings from Shakespeare, their programme ranges from nineteenth-century German lieder by Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn to songs by the American Amy Beach and British composers from Elizabeth Maconchy to Ailsa Dixon. Tea and cake will be served after the concert
