Description

article thumb - Hare in front of Cathedral

In a spectacular public art event that will bound across the region for 10 weeks in the summer of 2022, Winchester and Southampton will be brought to life with a drove of Hares and their young Leverets sculptures, creating a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for everyone to enjoy whilst exploring our great cities.

Each sculpture will be sponsored by a business and individually designed by an artist – either well-known or just starting out, from Hampshire or further afield. They’ll hop into the cities on Thursday 16th June – before leaving on Thursday 25th August 2022. Then from the 2nd to 4th September, there will be the chance to say a final ‘goodbye’ at a Farewell Event before each Hare is auctioned to raise funds for The Murray Parish Trust.

There’s a way to go before the trail begins, but they hope you’ll join us and our Hares of Hampshire throughout summer 2022. Share in the excitement – and keep up-to-date with the latest news – on our social media channels using #HaresOfHampshire.

The Leveret Trail - Schools, colleges and community youth groups from across Hampshire have been invited to join in the fun and adopt and design their own smaller Hare sculpture.

Their's a Hare in my Food - Sponsorship of a Hare Sculpture can be quite a tall order for smaller businesses in Hampshire and they want to include everyone in this huge event, so participating venues are invited to hop on board with the special event ‘There’s a Hare in my food!’
