Green Week 2020 - Doing More Together

27th September to 4th October 2020

Winchester’s Green Week is a key event in our calendar, where we celebrate our work towards driving down carbon emissions across the district. We also see Green Week as an opportunity to share ideas, achievements and environmentally-friendly activities for you and your family.

We are keen to build on the success of Green Week 2019, where nearly 8000 people took part across 60 events, run by a collection of 40 organisations. To ensure we achieve this, Green Week are running three key projects this year:

  1. Letters of Longing
  2. Images of Hope
  3. Sustainability Competition

The events of 2020 have raised difficult challenges for us all, and the impact on our communities has been keenly felt. Although Green Week are running things a little differently this year, the three themes aim to provide our schools, businesses and community centres the opportunity to celebrate our natural world and how we can all help to build a sustainable future.

To learn more about how you and your family can contribute to the projects, please refer to the Green Week brochure in the right hand column.

We are excited to see how you will celebrate Green Week. If you would like to send in your pictures of your Green Week 2020 projects, please submit them with a short description to climateemergency@winchester.gov.uk.
