Park and Ride Extension - Vaultex

Vaultex Park and Ride

The Vaultex site, formerly known as Coventry House, is being brought forward by Winchester City Council (WCC) as a Park and Ride (P&R). Vaultex P&R is a priority action of WCC’s Carbon Neutrality Action Plan and will be one of the first of the priority actions to be delivered.

The provision of additional P&R at Vaultex also supports the studies and recommendations from the City of Winchester Movement Strategy (WMS), as well as our commitment to increasing the use of sustainable transport in the city of Winchester.

WCC are continuing to progress this project. The previous building on site has been demolished and the site prepared for development. A planning application for the surface car park has been submitted and a decision is anticipated by mid-May. The proposals include cycle parking, bat and bird boxes, and increased tree planting and greenery to provide a biodiversity net gain.

The site post demolition in February 2020.

Following the progression of WCC’s Electric Vehicle Strategy and the necessary studies, discussions around providing Electric Vehicle Charging Points at Vaultex P&R are underway.
