Winchester Town Access Plan
Winchester City Council is currently working with Hampshire County Council to develop an Access Plan for Winchester.
The plan will be aimed at shaping the way we move in and around the town and at making the best use of the highways and public spaces.
It will follow on from the Winchester Movement and Access Plan that was developed in the early 1990s, and aims to preserve and enhance the town's streetscape whilst encouraging economic prosperity and improving accessibility for all.
As part of this process, we would like to hear your views on the access issues that affect you.
Consultation
We will be consulting on a number of accessibility issues such as traffic management, public transport, parking, 'shared space' environments, walking and cycling; with a view to developing an access plan for the next 10-20 years.
We are also seeking views on potential improvements and proposals for the High Street, particularly with regard to both paving and vehicle access arrangements.
A public exhibition was held at Winchester Guildhall on Friday 7th March and Saturday 8th March. More than 260 people dropped in over the two days.
Latest Updates:
Winchester High Street Refurbishment
