Reporting a Missed Collection
If your bin/sack has been missed on the scheduled day of collection and you contact our Customer Services team before 12pm the following working day, collection will be made by crews in the area within 48 hours.
Unfortunately if you contact us after 12pm the following day a collection will not be made and you will need to wait until your next scheduled collection unless the Client Team decides there are special circumstances.
If you have a query or would like to report a missed bin you can do this using our on-line reporting service, email email@example.com or telephone 0300 300 0013. Our office hours are 08:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30-16:30 on Fridays. If you wish to phone the Joint Waste Team and are unable to do so during these office hours, you have the option to leave us a voicemail on the 0300 300 0013 number when we are closed. If leaving a voicemail, please include your name, contact number, address and the details of which waste type was not collected.
Please note we only take refuse that is contained inside your refuse bin and any excess waste should be taken to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Biffa will return twice in any 6 month period to make collections under this policy.
Purchasing new or additional bins
Householders are responsible for providing and maintaining their refuse and recycling bins and replacing them if worn out, damaged, vandalised, lost or stolen. New residents will need to buy a bin if there are no containers.
If the house is a new build you will need to ask the builder if they will be purchasing containers, if not you will need to purchase them yourself.
Bins are the responsibility of the householder, not the Council. The current cost of a bin is £29.00 including delivery. Only one 240 litre refuse bin can be purchased per household unless you are eligible for additional bins if more than 6 people are living at the property.
There is no limit on the number of recycling bins a household may purchase. If you wish to purchase an additional recycling bin please contact us on 0300 300 0013
I haven't had a calendar delivered?
Your calendar is available online by using our post code look up app and inputting your post code into Post code look-up, alternatively if you would like a paper copy delivered just complete the on-line form and we will put one in the post.
I have a large item I would like collected from my house
Our contractors, Biffa provide a bulky waste and large item collection service for customers, this is a chargeable service and you can contact them by calling 01962 670 706
