  • Furniture
  • Televisions
  • Washing machines
  • Cookers
  • Mattresses (please keep covered and dry)
  • Carpets

Important information regarding the collection and disposal of fridges and freezers

Due to a nationwide issue with the on going collection, storage and treatment of fridges, freezers and similar cooling equipment, we have been advised by Hampshire County Council that these items will no longer be accepted at Household Waste Recovery Centres (HWRC's) Please see below:

"We are currently experiencing a 40% increase in the number of fridges and freezers being disposed of by the public compared to last year. Unfortunately we have reached a position where we are unable to accept units from bulky waste collections with immediate effect. We will of course update as soon as there is any change to this situation"

This will also impact on any future collections of fridges and freezers made by our contractor Biffa and means that we are no longer able to collect fridge’s and freezers as part of a booked bulky waste collection service.

Most companies offer to remove your old fridge/freezer upon purchase of a new one. If you are purchasing a new fridge or freezer please enquire with the relevant company at the time of purchase about arranging removal of your old white goods.
