Commercial and Business Waste (Trade Waste)
Every business has a "Duty of Care" for its waste products. This encourages responsible business and combats the dumping of waste illegally (fly-tipping).
Therefore the onus is on each and every business, irrespective of their size, to organise and pay for regular waste collections.
There are many authorised waste companies available, many of whom can now offer recycling services as well as waste disposal. It is normal for whichever company you choose to supply the appropriate containers as required.
Businesses can be requested to show evidence of what provision they have and if found wanting may be subject to legal action.
Contaminated waste needs specialist treatment so contact your waste collector for advice.
For the first time, Hampshire’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs), are pleased
to welcome businesses and traders. From 1st October 2016, many of the county’s HWRCs
will offer a ‘pay by the load’, quick and convenient recycling and waste disposal service.
