Playing Out

Make your street a place to play

Playing Out is a parent and resident led movement restoring children’s freedom to play out in the streets and spaces where they live, for their health, happiness and sense of belonging. It is a the national organisation providing free resources and advice for residents about enabling street play. As well as instructional videos and a step-by-step 'manual for organisers', you can download template posters and other materials or contact them directly for advice.

The official website, www.playingout.net, provides all you need to start regular ‘playing out’ sessions on your street or other actions to spark change where you live. Also ideas, stories and inspiration gathered from people around the UK and beyond.

The Sport & Physical Activity team are on-hand to support your community and implement this initiative within your street. For more information about the Playing Out please visit www.playingout.net or for local advice please contact sport@winchester.gov.uk
