Station Approach

The Council wants to improve and revitalise the area of Winchester between the railway station and the Cattle Market, an area which is referred to as Station Approach. Our long-term vision for the sustainable development of the town’s economy aims to make the best use of key sites for sustainable development, and this project is part of this vision.

The Local Plan recognises the potential of new development in the Station Approach area and how it can play a key role in the future of Winchester. There is evidence that there is a growing supply and demand imbalance for quality Grade A office space within the city centre and, should their needs not be met, Winchester could potentially lose a number of significant existing private sector employers.

Our aim is to start on site at Carfax during 2019.
