Community Development in West of Waterlooville

Jaime Bridges

Jaime Bridges is the Community Worker for the West of Waterlooville development. The post is full-time and paid for by the developers as part of the planning conditions.

The key objectives of the Community Worker are as follows:

  • To facilitate the creation of a cohesive community that is integrated with the existing community that adjoins it.
  • To facilitate the active involvement of all sectors of the community in sustainable community activity and encourage sustainable lifestyles.
  • To enable the community to develop experience, skills and knowledge, to strengthen their capacity to make improvements to the quality of life of their community and the local environment

There is a regular community newsletter that gives updates on Jaime's work, information on community events and activities and reports on progress with the overall development. The latest newsletter can be found at the foot of the page, as can a link to previous issues.

There is also a public art programme, funded by the Taylor Wimpey Section 106 contributions for West of Waterlooville.  An action plan has been produced to guide the use of the art contribution, with details of events and activities to be found on the Public Art Programme website (see link below).

If you would like to speak with Jaime about getting more involved in the community, about ideas for activities or services that should be provided, or if you have a problem with which you need some assistance, you can contact Jaime as follows:
