Gypsy and Traveller DPD Examination
Following the pre-submission consultation on the Traveller DPD earlier this year, the Council submitted the Traveller DPD for examination on 9 May 2018.

The Secretary of State has appointed Mrs Louise Crosby MA MRTPI to conduct the Examination. The Inspector will be holding hearings as part of the Examination of the Plan. The hearings took place on Monday 3rd September 2018 and Tuesday 4th September 2018 respectively. The hearings were held in the Wykeham Room, The Guildhall, The Broadway, Winchester SO23 9GH.
Proposed Modifications Consultation
The Council has been informed by the Inspector Louise Crosby MA MRTPI, that subject to including a number of modifications that were discussed during the Examination Hearings, that the DPD could be found sound in due course.
The Council has now compiled a series of Modifications to the Traveller DPD, which reflect matters in response to representations and discussion at the hearings. These Modifications were published for consultation for 6 weeks from 8 October until noon on 23 November 2018.
The Modification schedules together with the Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment/Habitats Regulation Assessment (SA/SEA/HRA), can be viewed on the right hand side of this page.

The Council has appointed a programme officer , whose role will be to coordinate the Examination and liaise between the appointed Planning Inspector and the Council.
