Chesil Quarter Car Park Survey
The Chesil Quarter Car Park Survey was conducted to find out how local people use the Chesil Street Surface Car Park and the likely impact if it were to close or be considerably reduced in capacity.
The Winchester District Car Parking Strategy, finalised in early 2014, identified that the combined usage of the two car parks in the Chesil Quarter in an average month is lower than other car parks in the city centre and in recognition that there is potential to consolidate the off-street parking in this area, the Council conducted the survey to inform its consideration of the possibility of using the site of the Chesil Surface Car Park for alternative development, possibly an Extra Care Scheme, to meet the needs of Winchester’s increasing older population.
This document below details the results of the survey.
