Highcliffe publishes its Community Plan

The Highcliffe Community Forum for Action (HCFA) has recently published the Highcliffe Community Plan, which is the culmination of three years’ work by local residents. It contains 22 actions designed to address the main issues raised, with the highest priorities being to keep children safe; tackle irresponsible parking; local environmental issues and the provision of a local shop.

Following the success of a pilot survey by the HCFA in June 2013 a group of residents came together, supported by local Councillors and Winchester City Council Officers, to take the project forward. The group produced a community profile and carried out further surveys, which helped to identify the main areas of concern for local residents. A detailed household survey generated 131 responses and led to the list of actions and which were discussed with representatives from key organisations such as the Council and the bus company.

HCFA will now work with the Council and other organisations to ensure that the actions are successfully implemented and to undertake regular reviews of the progress made. The plan can be viewed, with other completed plans, at http://www.winchester.gov.uk/community/community-plans/completed-plans/. Highcliffe Community Plan is the fourth such plan produced by communities of Winchester, in addition to 22 further community plans across the wider Winchester District.
