Working together for the future of Winchester

Businesses from across the Winchester District are invited to attend the Future of Winchester conference on Thursday 3 December 2015.

This important event, hosted by Winchester City Council with support from Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, will be held in the Guildhall Winchester from breakfast to lunch. Delegates will be able to comment on the Council’s budget plans for the coming year as well as hearing an update on the larger scale projects the Council is undertaking.

The event is also a chance to showcase the joined-up approach the Council is taking with its business customers. Cllr James Byrnes, Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, said:

We are looking forward to welcoming our local businesses from all sectors and sizes, and consulting them on our plans for the future. We will also be featuring speakers from the two growth hubs supporting the District, and local businesses who have benefitted from advice and support from the Council.

The conference incorporates the Council’s annual business budget consultation event, with a wider conference agenda. There will also be an opportunity to talk with officers from the council’s business-facing teams such as planning advisors.

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce is supporting the event, and Stewart Dunn, Chief Executive, will play a vital role in chairing one of the conference sessions. He added:

I am thoroughly looking forward to engaging with our Winchester businesses, and cementing our role as a local voice for businesses. We work closely with Winchester City Council for the benefit of the business community, and this conference is just one way of demonstrating our positive relationship with local elected Members.

The conference is free to attend, but places are limited and must be booked in advance. To reserve your place, send your details to events.north@hampshirechamber or find out more at www.winchester.gov.uk/futureofwinchester
