City Council changes to senior management
Winchester City Council is making changes to its senior management structure.
A meeting of the Council on 4 November agreed that the Corporate Management Team should be reduced in size by one, with some areas of work being organised differently.
In future the team will concentrate on planning for the medium- and long-term, helping the Council tackle challenges ranging from the continued financial pressures on local government to business rate reform and proposals for the devolution of powers and funding from Whitehall.
The Council’s team of Assistant Directors will lead the delivery of services to the public.
Cllr Vicki Weston, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Service Delivery, said:
These changes will help make the Council more efficient, and save us up to £100,000 a year. They also make us better able to tackle the many complex challenges we face.
I know that all councillors join me in thanking those who may be affected by this reorganisation for their commitment to serving Winchester over many years.
