Christmas comes early for the first tenants at New Queens Gate, Stanmore Lane, Stanmore
The first tenants have moved in to the newly completed affordable homes at Stanmore.
The twenty-one homes are built with energy efficient materials and together with photo voltaic panels on the roofs they are very economic to heat and meet code level 5 for energy, and code level 4 for water. In addition they are designed to be easily adapted for people with restricted mobility.
Cllr Caroline Horrill, the City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, said:
I am delighted to officially hand over the keys to Mrs Tanya Nutbeam.
Most of these homes have been offered to families with a local connection to Stanmore. As part of the affordable housing policy we have an on-going commitment to provide 300 new council homes in the District.
