George Hollingbery MP set to go ‘Totally Locally’
Press Release: 30/06/2014
Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery will visit Bishop’s Waltham on 4 July to find out exactly what it means to go ‘Totally Locally’.
After supporting Bishop’s Waltham’s successful bid for £10k in government funding to develop the high street, Mr Hollingbery is keen to see how the Town Team and in turn the Chamber of Trade is making a difference.
Using the opportunity of their second year celebrating Independents’ Day, Bishop’s Waltham Chamber of Trade is launching Totally Locally Bishop’s Waltham, a year-round campaign which reminds people of the benefit to their community of shopping locally.
After a quick tour of the market and some local Durley strawberries and Hampshire ice-cream, the Chamber of Trade will explain to Mr Hollingbery their plans to make a £2.5m impact on the local economy. If they can convince him to stay until 3:30pm when the Pimms stand opens they may even treat him to a Pimms!
George Hollingbery said:
It’s great to see that the Chamber of Trade are building on the work of the Town Team and taking it to the next level. I’m really interested to see how the Totally Locally campaign will work, and am looking forward to meeting those responsible for its launch.
Bishop’s Waltham Ward Councillor Steve Miller, who is also the Chairman of the Chamber of Trade and a Town Team member, said:
Bishop’s Waltham is a great place to do business thanks to the active and enterprising nature of the business community here. Collaboration between the Town Team and the Chamber of Trade has led to some exciting events over the last year and I hope to see more of these in the future.
