Creative city business helps brand the destination
Press Release: 18/02/2014
Winchester City Council didn't have to look far for an outstanding design for their Visit Winchester Guide. Officers at the tourism service chose to work with local agency, Park Corner, which has been based in the city for over a decade and has a studio on Southgate Street.
Park Corner has evolved the successful brand to make it even more appealing to the many visitors to the district. The free guide provides tourists with details on the city's vast history and information on visiting its many historic sites, as well as a guide to where to stay, eat and shop. There is also a detailed listing of events in the city throughout 2014 and this year the accent will be on the district-wide events commemorating the outbreak of World War I.
Park Corner's Managing Director, Liz Livingston, said:
We have really enjoyed evolving the design of the Visit Winchester Guide and working collaboratively with Winchester City Council. After all, this is the guide for the city we love, live and work in. Our designs reflect the exciting year ahead in Winchester and we look forward participating in the many events listed.
Winchester City Council’s Deputy Leader who holds the portfolio for Economic Prosperity, Cllr Robert Humby, said:
We support local businesses wherever possible whilst carrying out the business of the Council itself. Creative and knowledge industries represent a key growth sector locally and the success of companies such as Park Corner reflects the fact that Winchester has a growing reputation as a hub of talented and innovative professionals. I would like to thank the team there for their commitment to providing good value and going the extra mile in order to help the team ensure Winchester stands out from the crowd as a tourist destination.
