Planning application submitted for wind farm development at Bullington Cross

Press Release: 01/05/2013

Winchester City Council has received a planning application from EDF Energy for a wind farm development at Bullington Cross.

The site of the proposed wind farm crosses the boundaries of three local authorities: Winchester City Council, Test Valley Borough Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. EDF Energy has submitted a planning application to each of these authorities.

The proposal is for 14 wind turbines and associated infrastructure distributed as follows:

  •  Winchester City Council – seven turbines
  • Test Valley Borough Council – three turbines
  • Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council – four turbines

While each authority will consider independently the application submitted to it, Winchester City Council, Test Valley Borough Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have committed to working closely throughout the process. They have also provisionally agreed to hold a joint meeting, where all three planning committees will consider the applications in their area.

Members of the public who wish their comments to be taken into account in all three local authority areas will need to submit separate representations to each council.

Details of the planning application can be found on the Winchester City Council website at www.winchester.gov.uk/library/publicnotices
