Royal Caribbean Beginners’ Running Group: Coming to the streets of Winchester this Winter

Press Release: 10/12/2012

Winchester Royal Carribbean Running Group

The Sports and Physical Activity Team at Winchester City Council are working in partnership with Run England and Royal Caribbean International to provide a beginners’ running group for the public to attend.

The Winchester Royal Caribbean Running Group has been set up for beginners, or those with minimal experience, to come together and take part in a stress free, relaxing jog around the local parks and streets of Winchester. It will include a combination of walking, jogging and running, giving you the chance to work towards your own personal goals, improve your fitness and receive support if you are returning from an injury.

The group meets outside Riverpark Leisure Centre every Thursday evening at 6.30pm with the session lasting for approximately one hour, finishing at 7.30pm. All runs are lead by a fully qualified and first aid trained running instructor, planning safe routes and delivering a range of drills to improve technique each week. Once signed up to our running group, every member will receive a free t-shirt and rain jacket.

So what are you waiting for? With a weekly entry fee of just £1.00 per session this is an opportunity not to miss! It will also allow you to meet new people in a friendly, enjoyable environment whilst keeping fit and active. The group will have one week off over the Christmas period (27 December) but will start back up again on the 10 January 2013 just in time for your new year’s resolutions!
