Notice of By-Election for Olivers Battery and Badger Farm Ward

This by-election will be held on Thursday 27 January 2011 and follows the sad death of David Spender, who was first elected on 29/9/05 and died in October.  The successful candidate will serve the remainder of his term of office, up to May 2012.

Polling stations will be open at Badger Farm Community Centre and St Marks Church, Olivers Battery between 7am - 10pm.  There are 3,244 voters on the register.

Nomination papers may be obtained from the Returning Officer at the City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9LJ. Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the same address from Friday 17 December 2010, but no later than NOON on Thursday 30 December 2010.

All new applications to vote by post and any amendments to existing postal or proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 12 January 2011.

Applications by proxy may be made by persons who are unable, or likely to be unable, to go in person to the polling station. All new applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 19 January 2011.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on the grounds of physical incapacity (where that physical incapacity occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 19 January 2011) must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 27 January 2011.
