Easter Quizzes at the City’s Museums
Families can find free fun Easter related quizzes at both the City Museum and the Westgate in Winchester during the Easter holidays.
At the City Museum, a number of Easter chicks have been hidden amongst the Roman, Anglo-Saxon and medieval artefacts, and in the old reconstructed shops. See if you can find them all as you explore this family friendly museum.
At the Westgate you will have to look high and low around the ancient Westgate chamber to discover bright and colourful Easter eggs. You can also have a go at trying on the replica armour, or maybe make a brass rubbing to take away with you.
As it is Easter, successful chick and egg spotters will be rewarded with a small tasty prize on completing their quizzes.
Robin Iles, Education Officer at Winchester City Council Museums said “Winchester’s museums are well worth a visit this Easter. They are great places for families to have fun together, whether it is searching for chicks and eggs, or finding out about Winchester’s amazing history by having a go at the many hands-on activities on offer and trying on replica historical costumes”.
Admission to the City Museum and Westgate is free – just turn up.
Museum opening hours are Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun noon-5pm please note there will be changes to the Westgate opening hours from end of April.
