New Guide to Selling to the Council

Winchester City Council has published a new guide for suppliers who want to sell to the Council. As public spending is cut across the Country, it is even more important for Councils to think carefully where they invest their funds for the local community. That includes using the best suppliers – many of which are based in the local area.

The guide  aims to set out what goods and services the Council buys, and how we buy them.  From a full tender process, to small contracts using one of three quotes, the range of methods is listed so that local suppliers can respond to the Council’s needs.

Cllr Dominic Hiscock, portfolio holder for Economic Prosperity, said; “We are keen to use local suppliers where we can, and make sure our small businesses have the opportunity to bid for Council contracts just as well as the larger companies.  We hope this guide will make those opportunities more accessible to our local small businesses.”
