Free football fun for youngsters in Stanmore

Winchester City Council is running free football training for children from Stanmore during the Easter Holidays.

The five-a-side sessions will be held on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th April at Kings’ School, Winchester, rounding off with a mini tournament on Wednesday 15th April.

Boys and girls aged from 7-10 and 11-14 are invited to take part in the free training sessions which have been organised with the help of Lower Stanmore and North Stanmore Residents Associations.

David Lumby, Tenant Participation Officer at the City Council, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn a few football skills and enjoy a few friendly matches during the Easter Holidays.”

Application forms are available from Winchester City Council, Stanmore Primary School, and the Carroll Youth Centre. Places are limited to the first 20 children and the deadline for applying is Wednesday 31st March.
