A new art and design market for Winchester
A new monthly art & design market will take place in Winchester from Sunday 20th June between 9am and 4pm.
The market, which will take place in Middle Brook Street on the third Sunday of each month, will provide local artists and craft makers with an outlet to sell their work.
The City Council, which recently introduced a food and produce market on Wednesdays, is hoping that the new art and design market will help to attract traders and shoppers to Winchester.
Marilyn Michalowicz, Winchester City Council’s Arts Development Officer, said: “The City Council wants to provide our many local artists and craft makers with an opportunity to display and sell their work. Along with our other specialist markets, we hope it will attract people into the city and help our local economy.”
Jackie Edwards of Prod Grow Events, which is running the market, added: “This is a great opportunity for artists and crafts people to sell their creations to shoppers and tourists. There will be a wide range of items on sale and free parking is available for customers and traders.”
There are still some stalls available for any artists and designers who would like to become part of the new market. To secure a stall or to find out more, please call Jackie Edwards on 07515 797 878 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
