Charity Festive Market at Winchester Guildhall on Sunday 22 November 2009
Are you keen to find out more about charities in your local area? Perhaps you’d like to volunteer but don’t know where to start? If so, why not come along to the free Charity Festive Market at Winchester Guildhall on Sunday 22 November 2009 between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
The event will see a wide range of local charities coming together to raise money by selling Christmas gifts, running competitions, and showcasing the work they do for the local community.
Each charity will be selling a wide selection of items perfect for Christmas stockings or to be placed under the Christmas tree. They’ll also be selling Christmas cards, festive food and Christmas decorations. The charities will also be running raffles and competitions throughout the day; giving you the chance to win some fabulous prizes.
There will be entertainment on offer all afternoon, including a local choir who will be singing a selection of Christmas carols and festive songs. There will also be an array of delicious beverages and snacks on offer throughout the day; available in the King Alfred Hall and Courtyard Café.
Sharon Palmer, Business Development Officer at Winchester Guildhall, said: “This is a perfect opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping and, at the same time, show some much needed support for our local charities. Come along and enjoy some wonderful food and entertainment which will put you in the festive mood.”
The Friends of King Alfred Buses will be providing free vintage bus rides to all who attend. The special vintage bus service will operate between the Broadway, by the steps of the Guildhall, and St Catherine’s park & ride car park.
