Over 55’s Information Day
Following the success of the Over 55’s Information Day at the Discovery Centre in October last year, the Winchester District Older Persons Partnership is organising another event at Wickham Community Centre on Tuesday 2 June 2009.
The FREE event will take place between 11am and 2pm and will cover a wide range of information on subjects as varied as Benefits, Pensions, Transport, Healthcare, Active lifestyles, and Further Education.
People are invited to come along to the event at their leisure and get free advice about the range of services available to them.
Gill Sweeney, Chair of the Partnership (and District Service Manager for Winchester Adult Services) said: "The previous Over 55's Information Day was a great success and a great example of what can be achieved through close and effective partnership working. Through this process of agencies and older people working together, we have been able to identify 'increased awareness of services' as a top priority. The information day will enable people to find out more about all the services available to them"
Organisations represented at the event will include: Citizens Advice Bureau, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, Winchester City Council, Trading Standards, Pensions Service, Library Service, Age Concern, Meon Valley Carers, Energy Advice Centre, Telecare, University of the Third Age, and the Home Improvement Agency.
