Conference venues join forces to attract business

Representatives from many of Winchester's top meeting and event venues will be showcasing their services at Winchester Guildhall on Tuesday 31 March between 12 noon and 2pm.

The
Conference Winchester Business Exhibition is aimed primarily at event organisers, corporate clients and venue finding agencies. The exhibition is aiming to promote Winchester and the surrounding area as a perfect destination for business tourism.

The Guildhall, which is hosting the exhibition, is itself one of Winchester’s grandest and most centrally located venues. Other exhibitors will include hotels in Central Winchester and venues outside of the city such as Norton Park and Avington Park. The Watercress Line and Royal Armouries Fort Nelson will also be amongst those exhibiting.

Event organisers looking for flexibility on budget will also be able to meet representatives from The University of Winchester and The Wessex Conference Centre.

Jon Gettings of the Winchester Royal Hotel, who is Chair of Conference Winchester, said:

“We are delighted to have this opportunity to showcase the very best of what Winchester has to offer businesses in terms of Conference and corporate event facilities. Having so many venues represented in one place at one time means potential clients can gather all the information they need to make an informed decision.”

Entry to the exhibition is FREE and includes light refreshments and a complimentary raffle ticket for a prize draw. Venues will be providing exclusive offers which will only be available at the exhibition.

Representatives from Winchester City Council’s tourism marketing service will also be available to offer advice on things to do in and around Winchester, and to promote their highly successful ‘partner programme’ - a series of ideas and activities for partners staying with delegates.

The exhibition marks the launch of Winchester’s new style consortium of venue providers. For further information and to book a place please email marketing@winchester.gov.uk or call 01962 848 556.
