Businesses encouraged to grow through the recession

Local businesses have an opportunity to attend a FREE two day seminar to help them plan their future growth. The event will focus on ways to grow your business despite the recession, and even identify the opportunities the credit crunch brings.

The seminar will give helpful advice and answer questions on managing money, employing staff, business planning and other aspects of running a healthy, growing business.

These interactive workshops have been arranged by Winchester City Council and Business Link Hampshire & Isle of Wight in recognition of the increasing number of businesses starting up in the area.  The City Council has made economic growth a priority across the Winchester District, and aims to help local enterprise flourish.

Cllr George Beckett, Leader of Winchester City Council and Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism, said: “These workshops offer an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to take time out to consider where they want to be in a few years’ time, and how they are going to get there. The current recession is the right time to start making long term growth plans and assess the strengths of your business.”

The seminars are led by two trainers who have first hand experience of running and developing a business.  Delegates will also have the opportunity to network with one another over lunch and to meet Business Link advisors for one to one support.

The seminar will take place over two days on 25th and 26th March at the Marriott Meon Valley Hotel and Country Club near Wickham.  Places are limited, so be sure to book your place in advance by contacting Business Link on 0845 600 9006 or email info@businesslinkwessex.co.uk
