NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from 16 July 2009 to 12 August 2009 between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm (except Saturdays and Sundays); any person interested may inspect and make copies of the accounts to be audited of the above-named; Winchester City Council for the year ended 31 March 2009 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto. The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices at which they are normally kept, or otherwise by arrangement; application should be made initially to the Head of Finance, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester, SO23 9LJ (Tel: 01962 848224).
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that on or after 13 August 2009 at 10.00 am until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, or his/her representative, may ask the Auditor questions about the accounts. Please contact the auditor at the address given below to make arrangements to ask any questions.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that on or after 13 August 2009 at 10.00 am until the conclusion of the audit process, a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, or his/her representative, may object to the Council’s accounts asking that the auditor issue a report in the public interest (under section 8 of the Audit Commission Act 1998) and /or apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to the law (under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998). No objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and of the grounds on which it is to be made. A copy of this notice must be sent to the Head of Finance at the address above.
