A Free Lunch at One Big Table – This Sunday 19 July from 12 until 3pm

Delicious food, live music and dance from around the world and guaranteed good company are all on the menu at Winchester’s Big Lunch event on Sunday in Abbey Gardens, Winchester.

Cllr Dominic Hiscock will be launching this fun family event. Guests will be able to enjoy authentic Indian, Chinese, British and Afro-Caribbean dishes prepared by the city’s varied restaurants and communities. Along with fresh fruit from the local market and fruit juices, a culinary treat is guaranteed, and a seat at one very Big Table!

To entertain the guests, there will be steel drums, sitar and tabla musicians, as well as Bollywood and Indian dance – there will be a chance to have a go for those feeling energetic!

This is a free event and everyone is welcome to come and sit at the long table. If the weather isn’t fine, the event will take place in Winchester Guildhall.

One Big Table has been devised by Winchester’s ethnic minority groups including Culturenet and Footsteps, working in partnership with Winchester City Council’s Arts Service, Hampshire County Council’s Community Service and Winchester Area Community Action, with additional funding from Awards for All Lottery grants.

We look forward to seeing you in Abbey Gardens.
