Multicultural event at the Discovery Centre

A free event to support and promote Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) representation across the Winchester District will take place at the Winchester Discovery Centre on 9 May.

The CultureNet Multicultural Gathering will run from 1pm to 3pm and is open to everyone. The event is designed to raise awareness, interaction and understanding amongst different communities.

There will be a wide range of information, training opportunities, and activities on offer to help encourage existing and new BME organisations in the Winchester District.

CultureNet is Winchester’s new inter-cultural network with a goal to "help make the Winchester District a place where diverse and dynamic communities can realise their potential".

This will be done by working closely with statutory, voluntary and media sectors to raise awareness of BME issues.

The group is being led by local communities, with support from Winchester Area Community Action, Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council.

For more details of the event or to find out more about CultureNet, please contact Abdul Kayum on 07 876 687 652 or Lois Hutchinson on 07 715 596 660.
