2D3D Southern Contemporary Arts come to City Space

Saturday 25 April until Sunday 24 May 2009

A group of local artists called 2D3D will be exhibiting and selling their work at City Space at Winchester Discovery Centre for the first time.  Their exhibition runs from Saturday 25 April to Sunday 24 May.

2D3D is a group of professionally trained artists including painters, printmakers, sculptors and textile artists, so there is bound to be something to appeal to the tastes of all visitors.

The sculptors in the group use materials as diverse as sand, resin, mild steel, latex, fibreglass, concrete, willow and canvas. The painters also work across a wide field; there are collages and wood block prints whose textures and colours are from the natural world as well as figure, still life and abstract paintings.

One of the exhibiting artists, Sue Halloway, will be holding a children’s make and take art workshop on Saturday 23 May 2009.  This is your chance to make a special card for Father’s Day, so be sure to put the date in your diary.

There will be two workshops, one from 10am to 12noon and another from 1pm to 3pm.

Participants will learn how to make pop up cards using simple paper technology. Children should bring a grown-up with them to help with the fiddly bits.

Each workshop costs £4, including cost of materials, and is suitable for ages 6 to 12 years. To book, please call 01962 873 603.

Admission to the exhibition is FREE and most of the artwork is for sale.
