Change Your World

Imagine a world with cleaner air, quieter streets and more space for kids (and big kids) to play. We're challenging our residents to swap just one car trip this week and walk, cycle or use public transport instead. Why not give it a try?

It's easier to achieve than you think. Amazingly, if we all made just one less car journey a week, we'd reduce car traffic by 10%.

Here are some alternative methods of getting out-and-about in Winchester and Hampshire:

Walking

Walking is great way to explore Winchester. There are a number of walking paths which pass through Winchester and plenty of short cuts around the city to discover along the way. Whether you're walking to work, walking to the shops/museums, or simply walking for leisure, here are some useful links:

Cycling

Cycling offers another great way to get around Winchester. The City Council offers a Bicycle loan service called Bikeabout for residents who want to cycle around the city. There are plenty of cycle trails to explore at weekends and what's more, it's the ideal way to keep fit whilst

Buses
