Entry to the Great Hall is free, trail packs 50p each with a prize for each one completed.

A Home for Heroes Exhibition

For those interested in Winchester's military history, the Guardroom and Rifles Museums are hosting a joint exhibition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the association of the King's Royal Rifle Corps with Winchester and in particular, the occupation of Peninsula Barracks.

An exhibition recording the development and occupation of the barracks will be mounted in the Guardroom Museum whilst the exhibition in the Rifles Museum will focus on heroes who have links to the site.

Keep the children busy this summer at the holiday club, which offers an exciting range of activities to suit all tastes, from art to archery, cookery to circus skills, teambuilding to drama and dance to computing.

The club is set within Swanmore College's first class community facilities, including a sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio, astro turf, media centre, art studios, huge playing fields and a fully operational canteen.

Sunday Guided Tours at Twyford Waterworks

Visit the Edwardian pumping station to discover how water used to be purified. One Sunday every month the machinery is put into operation, along with the narrow gauge railway. While you are there, take the newly extended nature trail, listen to the band, watch the falconry display and see a range of classic tractors.

The site includes diesel, gas, petrol and water engines, the narrow gauge railway and the unique water softening plant.

The tea room and gift shop will be open and there is plenty of free parking.
