Local jewellery designer exhibits her new collection at City Space
Local jeweller Sharon Candy has been given a chance to display her new collection of bespoke jewellery at City Space, part of the new Winchester Discovery Centre.
Sharon’s interest in jewellery design began when she bought an outfit for a special occasion and could not find jewellery to match. Since then her skills and designs have developed and she sources beads from various parts of the world. She also specializes in bespoke pieces to complement a favourite outfit.
Sharon has exhibited during Hampshire Artist’s Open Studios event and taken part in during Winchester City Council’s Making Merry Open Studios weekend event. She said, “I am very excited to be launching my spring collection at City Space. This is a wonderful opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work in a sympathetic environment”.
Cllr Patricia Stallard, Winchester City Council’s portfolio holder for culture, heritage and sport added, “We are very pleased to give local crafts people the opportunity to exhibit their work. This is a very interesting display for City Space and it is rewarding for all concerned to help artists bring their craft work to a wider audience. We hope it will bring new visitors to the gallery and intrigue some of our regulars.”
Admission to the gallery is free. City Space opens 10am-4pm Mon-Sat and Sun 12noon – 4pm.
