Community Chest Awards benefit even more groups

Winchester City Council has awarded a total of £4,258 of funding to 11 local community groups as part of the second round of Community Chest Awards.
Cllr Patricia Stallard, Portfolio Holder for Culture Heritage and Sport said: “The Community Chest grant scheme gives the council an opportunity to provide funding to some small but incredibly important local community activities. We encourage all community groups to come forward and find out whether they are eligible to apply for a grant.”
The following groups have all benefited from the latest grants:
- Bishops Waltham Twinning Association
- Denmead Community Association
- Junior Hampshire Harriers Wheelchair Basketball Club
- St. Faiths Youth Group
- Tiddlywinks Parent & Toddler Group
- Triangle Playgroup
- Westgate Support and Care
- Winchester Tourist Guides
- Winchester-Laon Twinning Association
- Winchester Rugby Club
Any community group based within the Winchester district can apply for a Community Chest grant up to a maximum of £500.
Any groups wishing to apply for a Community Chest Grant must submit their applications by 25 October, 2007. Please note that applications can only be considered for projects/activities taking place between 6th December, 2007 and 31st March, 2008.
There will be no further grant allocation until after 1 April, 2008.
