Youth gig for the Mayor of Winchester's Charities Fund

Press Release: 18/05/2007

The Mayor of Winchester is hosting a charity gig at the Theatre Royal on Saturday 2 June.

The evening will be presented and performed by some extremely talented young people, aged 10- to18-years-old, from the Winchester district.

Denmead Youth Theatre, Blue Apple Theatre Company, NoCo Dance Company, Encore musical theatre group, bands from Winnall Rock School and other young musicians will join the Theatre Royal's own youth theatre and dance groups to present 'Command Performance'.

Making the night even more special, the young people are performing to raise funds for the Mayor's charities - Age Concern, Young Carers, Friends of the Family and Youth Options.

Mayor of Winchester Chris Pines would like to encourage as many people along to the event as possible. He said: "These enthusiastic young performers can't wait to entertain you and help raise money for these very worthy causes. So join me and our young citizens to help make this a very special occasion to remember."

Tickets for Command Performance on Saturday June 2 at 7pm cost £20 (for seats in the Theatre's upper circle - drink in the Circle Bar included) or £5- £10 for seats in the stalls.
They are available from the Theatre Royal Winchester box office on (01962) 840 440.
