Winchester City Council still flying high
Winchester City Council remains a high flyer in the way that residents feel about them compared to other authorities; although there has been a national trend of lower satisfaction across the board.
The Council has done well with satisfaction levels for parks and open spaces, sports and leisure facilities and events. Recycling centres also scored highly as well as the services provided by our Museums and Galleries.
There were slightly disappointing results in the areas of handling complaints to the council and with the cleanliness of our streets, but these are services the council is working hard to improve.
Cllr George Beckett, Leader of the Council said "Once again we have a pleasing set of satisfaction results, we are consistently above the national average and on the whole in the top 25% of Local Authorities. However, we seem to have an identity problem, in that although residents like the services we provide, they do not seem to associate them with the council.
"The City Council is proud to provide Winchester's parks and open spaces, Museums, Galleries, recycling sites, sports facilities and many public events. We want our residents to enjoy them as much as possible and will continue to work hard to keep standards high in these valuable areas of the Council's services."
