Noise and safety checks to take place at festival
Winchester City Council's environment watchdogs will be on hand at this year's Sanctuary Music Festival to make sure facilities on site are up to scratch.
They will be checking up on noise, water supply, sanitary accommodation, health and safety, catering, and clearance of litter both during and after the event which will take place at Cheesefoot Head at the end of the month.
The event which starts at 7pm on Friday 29 June and runs until 2am on Saturday 30 June will start again at 2pm on June 30 until 6am on Sunday 1 July. It is expected to attract a crowd equivalent in size to a small town.
Cllr Frank Pearson, Portfolio Holder for Health, Safety and the Environment at Winchester City Council said: "We recognise the potential for disturbance to the local population from events of this size. That is why we are committed to making sure that the conditions we have included within the licence are complied with as much as possible."
He added: "As with previous events, a team of staff will be on hand throughout the event carrying out checks and responding to any incidents that may arise."
