Tea at 3 raises cash for Naomi House

Generous residents at the Richard Moss House sheltered housing scheme have raised a brilliant £372 for Children's Hospice Naomi House.

The Winchester City Council run scheme organised a 'Tea at 3' cream tea and raffle which made £210. Residents donated all of the raffle prizes as well as lashings of strawberries, cream and cakes.

A representative from Naomi House visited the scheme to collect the cheque and presented residents with a Thank-you card. Since then the residents have counted up the profits from a collection tin - which made a further £162!

Scheme Manager Bee Derrick said: "The eagerness of residents to stage the event, and the amount raised, is typical of the community spirit and generosity I experience every day at Richard Moss House. Residents are already busy planning their next Naomi House fundraising event."

The fundraising tea party in Winchester was one of thousands held across the country for the benefit of local hospices.
