Each financial year Winchester City Council awards capital and revenue grants to a wide range of voluntary sector organisations in the Winchester District.  Decisions on grants are made prior to the start of each financial year and applications to two grant programmes are now being invited.

Cllr Patricia Stallard, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage and Sport said, "Our grant schemes give the council an opportunity to help fund organisations that provide vital services out in our communities. We are very pleased to announce the latest round of grants and would encourage all voluntary organisations to get in touch to see if we can help them."

Application forms are now available for the following schemes:

Community Capital Grants
This scheme provides support to a range of community access buildings which provide services to the residents of the Winchester District.  Capital grants cover physical building improvements (including disabled adaptations) and major equipment purchases.  Applicants must meet the criteria which are based on the City Council's corporate priorities, details of which can be found on the Council website, and are included in the application pack.  Potential applicants are advised to discuss their scheme with the Partnership & External Funding Officer, tel. 01962 848582, prior to submitting an application. 

Community Revenue Grants
The scheme provides funding to voluntary and community organisations delivering support and services to the residents of the Winchester District.  Over the last 8 years the Community Grant programme has awarded over £3.5m in revenue funding to a wide range of organisations and groups across the Winchester District.  Applicants must meet the criteria which are based on the City Council's corporate priorities, details of which can be found on the Council website, and are included in the application pack.

The deadline for the submission of applications for both Revenue and Capital grants in 2007/08 is 4pm Thursday, 30 November, 2006.  No applications will be accepted after this date.
