Councils' to hear joint debate

An outline planning application for the former Old Park Farm site, south of Hambledon Road, Waterlooville is to be determined by the Planning Development Control Committees of Winchester City Council and Havant Borough Council on Thursday 30 November 2006.

The application, submitted by George Wimpey for 450 homes, 24 live/work units, 7.1 hectares of employment uses including a Household Waste Recycling Centre, mixed use area and recreational open space will be debated in the Council Chamber at Havant's Civic Offices at 10.00am by both councils.

The application site includes land within both Winchester City and Havant Borough Councils' areas and therefore separate applications have to be made to both authorities.  Members of both committees will hear presentations and public speaking jointly and will also ask questions and debate the proposals together. However, the committees will then separately determine the application as it affects their area.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting. Anyone wishing to speak should contact Winchester City Council's Public Speaking Co-ordinators for both authorities on 01962 848339 before 4.00pm on Tuesday 28 November.
