Silver Hill development

Winchester City Council and Thornfield Properties are working closely to bring about the comprehensive development of the Silver Hill area of the City.

"It is essential that we have this holistic approach to the overall renaissance of the site," said Council Chief Executive Simon Eden.

The Council entered into a Development Agreement with Thornfield at the end of 2004 to bring about the regeneration of this important town centre site.  After extensive public consultation proposals have developed and the Council anticipates a planning application from Thornfield shortly."

The City Council has confirmed that it has a received a planning application from London and Henley for development of part of the Silver Hill site.

Mr Eden said that any planning application will be considered on its planning merits, both in terms of overall policy and design-related issues. Considerations would include the Draft Winchester Local Plan Review, the Inspector's comments on the Review and the Planning Brief issued for the area.
