Council By-election candidates

There will be a three-way contest in the Winchester City Council by-election for a seat in the Olivers Battery and Badger Farm ward.

The by-election, on Thursday 29 September, has been called following the resignation of Liberal Democrat Robin Darbyshire, who was elected in 2003.

Candidates are Susan Margaret Evershed (Conservative) of Compton Close, Cliff Way, Compton Down, Winchester; Clare McKenna (The Labour Party Candidate) of St Anne's Close, Badger Farm, Winchester; and David Andrew Spender (Liberal Democrats) of Old Kennels Lane, Olivers Battery, Winchester.

The elected candidate will stand until 2008.

Polling stations will be open between 8.00am and 9.00pm and the count will take place at the Badger Farm Community Centre when polling closes.
