Eat and drink smoke-free guide

If you don't like eating or drinking in a smoky atmosphere the free guide "Eat and Drink Smoke Free", produced by Smoke Free Hampshire and Isle of Wight, is now available from council offices, tourist information offices, doctors surgeries, etc.

The guide includes nearly 150 restaurants, cafes, pubs and hotels in Hampshire that are 100% smoke free indoors, enabling you to choose to avoid smoky venues, while at the same time encouraging more premises to go smoke free sooner rather than later.

It has been developed as part of the Smoke Free Eating & Drinking Award Scheme, a partnership between Winchester City Council, six other local authorities in Hampshire and the NHS, aiming to reduce exposure to second-hand smoke.

As more premises go smoke free they will be added to the list of smoke free venues in Hampshire.  This can be found on the website: www.smokefreehampshire.co.uk.  Look out for the window sticker and certificate displayed by venues that have received the award.

For more information please contact the Council's Commercial Team on 01962 848 319 or email environment@winchester.gov.uk  or the project worker, Jill Wilson, e-mail: jill.wilson@midhampshirepct.nhs.uk
